I guess you could consider me one of the last of the old-school "riot grrls" ...a chick with a tough cookie shell that's surrounding a warm, soft center. I've been told that I'm kind of intimidating looking, with my long dark hair, black clothes, dark lips,and blue eyes that peer out at the world from behind a heavy curtain of bangs. While I do make it a rule to take crap from no one, I'm not necessarily as vicious as one might assume. Hopefully there are evolved folks out there who are not intimidated by a lass like me. I also like to laugh a lot and have a good time, whether it's at an art gallery, a concert, hanging out with good friends, a pizza place, or in front of the TV with some weird foreign films I just acquired. Music is my drug of choice; I cannot live without it, and if I could inject it like a narcotic I probably would. I just started playing bass a little over a year ago, and I'm hoping to get a band together. I'm in the process of restructuring some of my poetry into songs (Obviously, Patti Smith is an influence), but my musical style is more Stooges and Jesus And Mary Chain based. Hopefully I'll be able to hook up with other like-minded novice musicians who realize that we're too old to quit our jobs and try to be rock'n'roll stars, but not so old that we can't maybe one day play a gig or two at a local ale house or something. I'm also loosely involved in the world of independent film. My friends at zenforfree.net have welcomed me into their world with open arms(that group of overflowing talent includes a dear childhood friend of mine who've I've just reconnected with, so special mad props to YOU!! PIDGEON HEINS!!), and I'm going to be assisting on a project or two with them. It's sure to be a memorable experience for me, to say the least. It's not all about playing my bass, my zenforfree life, and working my 9 to 5 though. I'm also on the look out for a good man. I'm looking for someone who's a combination of the best elements of Clint Mansell (if you don't know who that is, then we're going to have a problem right off the bat, I'm afraid!),Trey Parker and Matt Stone (the 'South Park' geniuses), the Reid brothers (the Mary Chain geniuses),Iggy Pop, John Lennon, Oscar Wilde, Rimbaud, Joey Ramone (R.I.P.,Saint Jeffrey),John Waters, Nick Cave, and Morrissey. That's not too much to ask, right? I realize that some of the men I mentioned are gay, or at least ambiguous in their sexuality, but that does'nt mean that one could'nt possess some of these gentlemen's finer qualities. I have'nt given up hope yet that there is a man out there waiting for me who fits this bill, someone who could be my muse. Or at the very least, someone who'll be willing to pick up the check sometimes, you know? I will leave you with that my friends, but I assure you, there is much, much more.
